There have been some exciting developments with DeafBiographies.com. The most exciting is that there is a new search capability: Fuzzy searching. Fuzzy searching allows users to search for a string of characters. For example, a Fuzzy search for John would reveal John, John Q., John Jr., etc. Before with only Soundex and Exact searches, searching for John would not yield John Q. or John Jr. Fuzzy searches are especially useful when searching in the first name field.

The second exciting development is that the database stands at over 8,600 records! Thank you to each of you who have contributed records. DeafBiographies is becoming a very valuable resource for researching Deaf Americans through the early 20th century.

Please contact me if you have any comments, ideas or suggestions concerning DeafBiographies. I look forward to hearing from you!
